Nancy J. Cohen is a multi-published author who earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Rochester and a master’s degree from the University of California in San Francisco. After working as a clinical nurse specialist, she retired to write full-time. She made her debut onto the publishing scene with futuristic romance novels written as Nancy Cane. Her first book, Circle of Light, won the HOLT Medallion Award. After writing several books in this genre, she switched to mysteries.
Her popular Bad Hair Day series features hairdresser Marla Shore, who solves crimes with wit and style under the sultry Florida sun. Killer Knots and Perish by Pedicure are the latest titles in this humorous series. A featured speaker at conferences, libraries, and community groups, Nancy is listed in Contemporary Authors, Poets & Writers, and Who’s Who in U.S. Writers, Editors & Poets. She has served as President of Florida Romance Writers, and as Secretary for the Florida Chapter of Mystery Writers of America.
Nancy is an active member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, Romance Writers of America, Novelists, Inc., International Thriller Writers, and The Author’s Guild. Silver Serenade, her latest release, is a sexy science fiction romance and her fifteenth title. Coming next is Shear Murder, a Bad Hair Day mystery, in January 2012 from Five Star.
Nancy and her husband are empty nesters who live in the Fort Lauderdale area. When she is not busy writing, Nancy enjoys reading, fine dining, outlet shopping, and cruising.
